Police investigate report of rape at Sidwell Friends School

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a report of a rape at a prestigious school in Northwest Washington.

According to a police report, the incident happened Wednesday afternoon at Sidwell Friends School and was reported to police later that night.

The reported perpetrator and victim are teenaged students, know each other and had a previous sexual relationship, the police say. The students’ ages have not been released.

A spokesperson for the school said in a statement, “It is the longstanding policy of Sidwell Friends School to cooperate fully with any law enforcement investigation. It is also our policy not to comment on such investigations.”
