WASHINGTON — More than 230,000 breast cancers are diagnosed each year in the United States and an event this month is working to raise funds to help with prevention and education programs in D.C.
NewsBash 2015 is set for Tuesday, June 16 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and benefits Celebremos La Vida! — a breast and cervical cancer education and early detection program for medically underserved women in the Hispanic community.
The event is hosted by a group of women in the news industry, including WTOP’s Hillary Howard.
The event is at the Warner Building Rooftop and tickets are $75 and $50 for survivor tickets. Buy tickets through Evenbrite.
