WASHINGTON — A bank robbery in Washington Tuesday included a bizarre twist — the culprit arrived armed with not only a gun, but also an oxygen tank.
The man was connected to the tank via a tube under his nose as he approached the teller at the Wells Fargo at 5701 Connecticut Ave. NW with a handgun shortly before noon on Tuesday. He fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The individual is described as a black male, 40 to 50 years old, with black facial hair including a mustache and goatee.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to his identification, arrest and conviction. They caution that the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, and that tips can be submitted by calling 202-278-2000 or the Metropolitan Police Department’s tip line at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the police department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
