The BEACH comes to D.C. this summer

WASHINGTON — For many, summer means the beach. Sand in your toes, a drink in your hand and a view of D.C.’s beautiful skyline.

The National Building Museum will recreate the ocean experience this summer with a sprawling exhibit called The BEACH. The industrial art organization Snarkitecture has been commissioned by the museum to create the installation.

Made with on ocean of nearly 1 million clear, recyclable plastic balls and mirrored walls, the entire exhibit will cover 10,000 square feet. It opens on the Fourth of July and will be available through Labor Day.

Beach activities, such as paddle ball, lawn chairs and a snack bar will also complete this beachy experience.

Group rates and season passes are available. Otherwise ticket prices are as follows:

Members
$10: Member Adult
$5: Member Youth/Student with ID/Senior

Non-Members
$16: Adult
$13: Youth/Student with ID/Senior

$10: Blue Star Military Adult
