White House temporarily locked down

WASHINGTON — Part of the White House complex was temporarily locked down Monday morning after a man tried to enter the grounds.

The man reportedly tried to walk onto the grounds behind an authorized pass holder at an entrance on East Executive Avenue, which sits between the Treasury Department and East Wing, prompting the lockdown of the North Lawn.

The Secret Service arrested the man and transferred him to Metropolitan Police Department, CNN reports.

The North Lawn has since reopened.
