Road closures Sunday for St. Patrick’s Day Parade

WASHINGTON — Visitors to the nation’s capital on Sunday should be aware of road closures due to the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which will begin at 12 p.m.

The parade will proceed down Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Streets, N.W. According to police and transportation authorities, 7th Street between Constitution and Pennsylvania Avenue  will be closed from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. The following streets will be closed to traffic beginning from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

  • Constitution Avenue, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to 17th Street, NW.
  • 6th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW.
  • 10th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW.
  •  7th, 9th, 12th, 14th and 15th Streets, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. to Independence Avenue, SW.

The parade route is easily accessible from the Federal Triangle, Archives-Navy Memorial and Smithsonian metro stations. The grandstands are located between 15th and 16th streets next to the judges reviewing stand. For more information go to the main parade website, www.dcstpatsparade.com.
