Power outage around National Mall

UPDATE 3:13 a.m. 01/06/2015: According to Pepco’s website, the power is back on.

EARLIER: WASHINGTON — Anyone driving around the National Mall early Tuesday morning may notice a little less light on some of the monuments and museums.

There’s a power outage in the area, which Pepco says is the result of problems from an underground feeder.

Pepco’s website shows that the outage covers an area near the E Street Expressway in Northwest down to Independence Avenue Southwest, and near Constitution Avenue and 17th Street in Northwest, stretching west to the Potomac.

There’s also a handful of folks without power in Prince George’s County east of Harry S. Truman Drive and Nareen Street.

Pepco says they hope to have power restored by 6 a.m. We’ll have more as we get it.
