Crash, spill on I-95 near Quantico cleared, all lanes open

WASHINGTON — A two-vehicle crash spilled fuel and halted rush-hour traffic on southbound Interstate 95 near Quantico, Virginia.

A tractor trailer, hauling apples and onions, and another vehicle crashed around 5:15 a.m. Monday past the Russell Road exit.  One of the vehicles overturned. No one was hurt.

Crews were on scene to clean up and contain 125 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation..

Southbound lanes were closed and one lane opened about two hours later to allow traffic to be diverted. However, lanes were closed again when the cleanup trucks arrived. The crash caused congestion.

The left lane was opened to traffic at 7:30 a.m. All lanes opened at 10 a.m.
