DC to NYC for $39 in latest Amtrak deal

WASHINGTON — Amtrak said its latest fare sale is rolling out some of its lowest fares since 2012, but you’ll need to act quick to get them.

The three-day sale runs from May 8 through May 10, and fares are good for travel May 29 through July 8.

The sale fares are good for all Northeast Regional travel.

Sample fares from D.C.’s Union Station include New York City for $39 each way, Virginia Beach for $44, Philadelphia for $29 and Richmond for $19.

All sale fares are for coach travel. No business class upgrade is permitted.

Amtrak, which marked its 47th anniversary this month, had a record year for 2017 ridership and revenue, carrying 41.7 million passengers generating $3.2 billion in revenue.

The Northeast Corridor, between D.C. and Boston, served a record 12 million riders in 2017.
