WASHINGTON — Arundel Mills recently cut the ribbon on a redesigned food court, now called the dining pavilion, with an improved layout for hungry shoppers, more dining selections, and a place for power shoppers to get off their feet for a spell.

The food pavilion has a new look with contemporary flooring and lighting, new colors and new seating, including elevated banquet tables with charging stations and conversation seating areas.

“We are committed to constantly reinvigorating the look, feel and offerings at our center, and have been for the last 17 years,” said Gene Condon, general manager at Arundel Mills.

The dining pavilion offers 12 eateries to choose from in the 30,000-square-foot space. The updated space includes new additions The Crepe Escape & Creamery, Green Leafs & Bananas, Suki Hana Wokaholic, Charleys Philly Steaks plus Maryland’s first Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar, which opened in October — the second Zinburger in the Washington area.

The other Zinburger open about a year ago at Springfield Town Center.

Arundel Mills, the largest outlet shopping center in Maryland, has undergone an extensive repositioning in the last few months, and has added new retailers including Under Armour Factory House, Kate Spate New York and Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store.

Arundel Mills offers more than 200 retailers, most of which are outlet versions of mainstream retailers like Banana Republic, Calvin Klein, Coach, J. Crew, Michael Kors, Neiman Marcus, Nike and Saks Fifth Avenue.

It is also home to 5-year-old Live! Casino, which is in the middle of a $200-million expansion, including a new hotel and concert venue.

Arundel Mills is owned by Simon Property Group, whose other outlet malls include Potomac Mills in Woodbridge, Opry Mills in Nashville, Gurnee Mills in Chicago, Grapevine Mills in Dallas, Ontario Mills in Los Angeles and Sawgrass Mills in Miami.
