Reston’s comScore ranks top apps

WASHINGTON — The list of the most popular mobile apps being used in the U.S. might not be surprising, but the number of users those top apps reach is impressive.

Reston-based mobile tracking company comScore Inc.’s monthly rankings of top mobile apps hasn’t changed much: Facebook, YouTube, Facebook Messenger, Google Search and Google Maps lead the list.

The Facebook mobile app, comScore says, now reaches 77.7 percent of the U.S. mobile audience.

YouTube grabs a close 71.4 percent, and Facebook Messenger reaches 69.5 percent of mobile users.

The rankings include both Apple iOS and Android platforms and is for users ages 18 and older.
