Bethesda’s True Food Kitchen sets June opening date

WASHINGTON — The Bethesda location of True Food Kitchen will open June 14 at Wisconsin and Woodmont avenues.

It will be the second Washington-area location for the national chain, whose menu is inspired by the principles of celebrity physician Dr. Andrew Weil’s anti-inflammatory diet. It opened in the Mosaic District in Fairfax in 2014.

The Bethesda True Food Kitchen occupies 6,400 square feet on the street level of the Solaire Bethesda apartment building, which opened late last year, and includes an outdoor patio.

True Food Kitchen’s menu emphasizes local ingredients that are in season, and the menu changes regularly. It serves a variety of gluten-free, organic, vegetarian and vegan dishes.

The restaurant also calls itself eco-friendly, with floors made from reclaimed wood and dining chairs made from recycled soda bottles.

True Food Kitchen, owned by Phoenix-based Fox Food Concepts, has 17 other locations across the country.
