Pizza Hut unveils new flick-football box

WASHINGTON — Pizza Hut is thinking outside of the box. Its new flick-football box comes with any medium pizza.

The box comes with a gridiron printed on the lid, goal posts, a score card and punch out football triangles, and Pizza Hut is tying it to an online contest for its customers.

It wants players to upload videos of the flick-football abilities to Twitter, and Pizza Hut will choose weekly winners for a free pizza. Categories include longest flick, most consecutive made flicks and most creative flick.

“We know our fans enjoy a little competition and we’re happy to provide a platform that lets them get in on the game in a whole new way while watching their favorite team,” said David Timm, chief marketing officer for Pizza Hut.

“The box brings some excitement back to the classic Flick Football game.”

Flick football has been around for a very long time and also goes by names like paper-football, finger-football, Chinese-football and tabletop-football.
