WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County will get its first Nordstrom Rack as part of the Woodmore Towne Centre development in Glenarden, Maryland.
The Nordstrom Rack will be part of a second phase planned for the 140-acre, 700,000-square-foot mixed-use development.
Petrie Richardson Ventures and Prudential Real Estate Investors, co-owners of Woodmore Towne Centre, has acquired five adjacent acres for the next phase, which also will include additional retail and restaurants. Groundbreaking is planned for later this year.
Nordstrom Rack will occupy 30,000-square-feet when complete.
Woodmore Towne Centre’s anchors include Wegmans, Costco, J.C. Penney, Best Buy and Petco. It opened in 2010.
Nordstrom Rack has been expanding its D.C.-area footprint, signing leases earlier this year for locations at Springfield Town Center and its first store in downtown D.C.
Nordstrom opened its first outlet Rack location at Potomac Mills in 1990. It has more than a dozen locations in the D.C. and Baltimore areas now.
