Matt Mills is the Director of Sales for WTOP and Federal News Radio. He oversees the advertising sales department responsible for all the on-air, on-line and mobile marketing platforms WTOP offers advertisers.
Matt joined WTOP Radio in 2001 as the General Sales Manager of WTOP. In 2006, Mills took on the additional roles of overseeing (at the time), WTOP, WGMS, Federal News Radio and Washington Post Radio. At that time, he was named Director of Sales for the Bonneville D.C. Radio Group (now Hubbard Radio).
Prior to joining WTOP and Federal News Radio, Mills held numerous positions in Radio. Beginning as an Account Manager in 1991, he worked at WGAY/WRC, DC 101, WJFK-FM and finally at WASH-FM. While at WASH-FM, he was promoted to National Sales Manager for WASH and WMZQ-FM. In 2000, he was promoted to General Sales Manager on WASH-FM.
Mills graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Syracuse University, and remains a loyal supporter of the university.
He has served on the Board of Directors for the March of Dimes and remains very active in coaching youth soccer in the area. In addition, he won the Director of Sales Awards in both 2010 and 2012 from Radio Ink Magazine.
