Andy has been talking on the radio for 40 years, mostly about sports. He grew up in Washington and got his first taste of radio at American University, working at the campus radio station which had been founded by broadcast legends Willard Scott and Ed Walker.
His early jobs took him through Texas and New York City where he helped start the nation’s first all-sports radio station, WFAN.
Andy returned home in 1992 to play a key role in the launch of D.C.’s first all-sports station, WTEM, where he served as Sports Director for 25 years.
He now does his own weekly podcast and takes the mound when needed in the sports department at WTOP. When it comes to Redskins trivia, it’s hard to get one by him.
WTOP was the soundtrack of Andy’s youth as both his parents were avid listeners. He’s thrilled to be a part of such a legendary operation.
Andy and his wife Arlene are empty nesters with a daughter who’s a D.C. area attorney and a son who’s a teacher in New York City.
