The Maryland Natural Resources Police Department said it received a call around 11:30 p.m. Friday reporting that 50-year-old Melquicedec Coreas-Gomez of Glen Burnie, Maryland, was missing.

He had been fishing with two other men. When they returned to shore, Coreas-Gomez stayed with the boat while the other two went back to get their truck and trailer.

When the men returned, Coreas-Gomez was missing.

Divers from Anne Arundel County found him in the water, but could not resuscitate him. He was pronounced dead at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
