WASHINGTON – Police are investigating what prompted a driver to shoot at another vehicle as they traveled along Arundel Mills Boulevard Tuesday morning in Hanover.
One of the drivers suffered minor injuries from a graze wound, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Police say that the injured driver had put gas in his vehicle at a nearby Costco and was followed from the gas station by another driver, who fired several shots as the two vehicles traveled along Arundel Mills Boulevard.
The shooting occurred near the PetSmart store shortly before 8 a.m., police say.
A portion of the street and the PetSmart were closed while police investigated.
Police say the victim drove to a relative’s home in Glen Burnie and called police.
Spokesman Lt. T.J. Smith says police are concerned about the daylight shooting and trying to figure out what prompted the gunfire.
Police have not released a description of the shooter. Police are asking anyone with tips to call 410-222-6155.
