Suspect, victim identified after body found inside Alexandria business

WASHINGTON — A man is charged with murder after a body was found in an Alexandria business Friday morning.

Around 11:50 a.m., police responded to a call about a man’s body found in a business in the 1200 block of King Street. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and police called the death “suspicious.”

The victim has been identified as Bradford Jackson, 65, of Alexandria.

Police assured Alexandria residents that there was no public threat following the discovery of the body.

Hours later, police announced a 34-year-old Pankaj Bhasin, of New Jersey, had been charged with murder in the case, and is being held without bond at the Alexandria Detention Center.

Friday’s death marks the second homicide in Alexandria in 2018.
