1 dead after DUI-related crash in Alexandria

WASHINGTON — A Fairfax man is charged with DUI-related vehicular manslaughter after a Saturday morning single-vehicle crash on S. Henry Street in Alexandria, Virginia.

Simon Pedro Urbion-Vasquez, 27, was driving southbound on S. Henry Street at approximately 3 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, according to a news release.

Alexandria Police responded to the scene.

One of the passengers, a 24-year-old from Silver Spring, Maryland, died on the scene from injuries.

The second passenger, a 24-year-old from Fairfax County, Virginia, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Vasquez had minor injuries and refused medical treatment. He is being held without bond.
