Police searching for man who stabbed 84-year-old in Alexandria

WASHINGTON — A violent attack against an elderly man in Alexandria had police going door to door Sunday in the neighborhood where the crime occurred. They want information that might lead to the man responsible for the incident.

An 84-year-old man interrupted a burglary at his home on Jackson Place at Woodland Terrace, in Alexandria, on Friday. Police say the burglar stabbed the man and seriously wounded him.

Police are looking for a black man between 40 and 50 years old, standing 6’2″ with a medium build, and medium to dark complexion. He was unshaven with a slight mustache and wearing a brown jacket, black pants and black wool cap.

The suspect was last seen at the intersection of E. Braddock Road and Mount Vernon Avenue at roughly 3:45 p.m. Friday.

Any of the neighbors who might have surveillance video are asked to contact Det. Sean Casey at 703-746-6853.
