Kid who offered prayer gets surprise gift from Redskins player

WASHINGTON — In the midst of what was pretty much a bummer for Redskins fans, a heartwarming exchange took place between a young fan and veteran cornerback DeAngelo Hall, who injured his toe during Thursday night’s game against the New York Giants.

According to Bleacher Report, a boy named Brian saw Hall in the stadium tunnel and offered to pray for him. Instead of responding with a simple thank you, the Pro Bowler took off his jersey and gave it to the kid.

The entire scene was recounted by former Giant Shaun O’Hara, who posted a recap on Instagram:

“Special moment just happened in the tunnel @mlstadium Brian here, a 12 yr old @redskins fan just saw @dhall23skins in the hallway & said “Hey DeAngelo, I’ll say a prayer for you.” Hall said thanks kid, I needed that….and then threw him his game jersey. #TrueStory #powerofprayer #thatjusthappened #MeanJoeGreene #classy”

The Redskins lost to the Giants 32-21 Thursday. Hall injured his toe during the third quarter and had to be helped off the field.

Only time will tell whether Brain’s prayer worked. Coach Jay Gruden told The Associated Press that he was not confident Hall would return anytime soon.
