WASHINGTON — Four people were taken to the hospital Saturday morning with minor injuries after a tractor-trailer crashed into a bridge support at the Riggs Road overpass on Interstate 495 and rolled over onto a pickup truck, snarling traffic on the Capital Beltway Outer Loop and blocking the right side, according to officials.

But the miracle is that nobody was more seriously hurt.

“#NoKidding” tweeted Prince George’s County Chief Spokesperson Mark Brady on Twitter.

“Unbelievable that occupants all self-extricated with minor injuries,” he wrote.

The right side of the Outer Loop between Interstate 95 and Maryland 650/New Hampshire Avenue was blocked because of the crash.

A hazardous materials team was also called in to help clean up spilled fuel from one of the vehicle’s saddle tanks.
