Police seek gunman in Prince George’s County homicide

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for the gunman in a Prince George’s County homicide early Tuesday morning.

New Carrollton Police responded to the 5400 block of 85th Avenue in New Carrollton at about 2:45 a.m. for a report of a man lying outside. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives say they do not believe the shooting was random. They are working to identify a motive and a suspect in the case.

The victim has been identified, but police are waiting to release it until family has been notified.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in the case.
