Police seek suspect in Forestville stabbing death

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County police are working to identify a suspect who stabbed a man outside the Maryland State Police Barracks in Forestville Tuesday night. The man later died.

On Tuesday, police responded to the 3300 block of Walters Lane for a report of a stabbing. When police arrived, they didn’t find a victim. Police discovered a few minutes later that a relative had driven the victim, 28-year-old Theodore Van Weeks III of Forestville, to the nearby Maryland State Police Barrack for help.

Emergency crews transported Weeks to a nearby hospital where he died a short time later.

Detectives say they believe Weeks got into an argument with the suspect outside his home, and during the altercation, the suspect stabbed Weeks.

It does not appear to be a random stabbing at this point, police say.

Investigators are working to identify a suspect and motive in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 301-772-4925.
