WASHINGTON – Here’s a look at this weekend’s top concert picks.

Pearl and the Beard performs Friday night at the Barns at Wolf Trap.

The folk-pop trio’s live shows are impressive — the main instrumentation includes guitar, cello and bass, but they project a wide sonic palette with clever uses of effects and complex three-part harmonies.

Also scheduled for Friday night at the Music Center at Strathmore, jazz guitarist Pat Metheny performs with his Unity Group.

Metheny’s guitar playing has kept his career moving for nearly 40 years — he won his 20th Grammy in 2013.

Roots-rock favorites Drive By Truckers are scheduled to close out their two-night run at the 9:30 Club on Sunday night.

Their scheduled Saturday night performance is sold out.
