The downtown Bethesda area could be considered the “Dupont Circle” of Montgomery County. This area has everything — including movie theaters, nightlife, running trails and more than 200 restaurants.

Similar to Dupont, downtown Bethesda is always in high demand when it comes to renting. Finding a suitable apartment isn’t always easy, which is why surrounding areas are becoming increasingly popular.

Many renters have similar needs, like access to the Metro, proximity to the Beltway, and schools boundaries, just to name a few.

North Bethesda offers all of the above and more, and renters can typically save a few hundred dollars per month in rent. In North Bethesda, a higher end one bedroom with the Metro just a block away starts at $1,715 per month, and something in Downtown Bethesda with similar features will cost around $2,145 per month.

Consider these attributes:

Location – North Bethesda is just minutes from both downtown D.C. and Rockville. The White Flint Metro station is the primary stop and is a part of the red line.

Convenience – There are so many options for shopping, including Harris Teeter and Whole Foods that are within walking distance. Montgomery County’s many parks and recreation centers are minutes away.  White Flint Mall also has some big plans to come, giving this location more of an “urban” feel, with increased pedestrian traffic, parks and new retail and restaurant options.

Fun – Everyone knows Dave & Buster’s is right up the street. But that’s just the beginning. You can hop on the Bethesda Trolley Trail for biking and running activities. Or enjoy nearby Rockville Town Center’s skating rink, movie theater, retail and restaurants.

Overall, North Bethesda is a great opportunity for future renters. It’s centrally located with everything just a short drive or Metro ride away. From enjoying nearby downtown D.C. to quickly accessing one of the metropolitan area’s three airports, to grabbing a bite to eat in Bethesda, North Bethesda checks off a lot of boxes at a great value.

Each neighborhood has its own character and charm. The North Bethesda area is really tough to beat for all the reasons above and more. When checking out areas for relocation, this is one that should be at the top of your list.
