Gladys Knight, retro-pop part of eclectic entertainment weekend

WASHINGTON – When it comes to live music in the D.C. region, the options are always abundant and eclectic.

Here’s a look at the concert highlights for this weekend.

Tonight at the Howard Theatre, Baltimore natives Dru Hill are scheduled to perform. The R&B group hasn’t released an album since 2010, but has been appearing on a string of summer tour dates across the U.S.

IOTA Club and Cafe is also going local tonight – Justin Jones joins the Deadmen along with Dangerously Delicious “Pie Man” Rodney Henry and his band, the Glenmont Popes.

Henry recently appeared in the Food Network Star competition.

Tonight at the Birchmere, Matthew Sweet is scheduled to perform.
