WASHINGTON – There’s one more thing consumers should be thinking about when buying a car: What will it be worth when they sell it?

Figuring out which wheels hold their value is the focus of the Kelley Blue Book, which is out with its annual resale value awards.

The Mini Cooper was the compact to beat for nine straight years but now the Honda Civic has topped it. Experts say the Civic is a lot of car for the money with good dynamics and great reliability.

In the midsize class, Toyota’s big problems are history with the 2012 Camry overtaking the Honda Accord in resale value.

In the sports car class, the Chevy Camaro is outselling the Ford Mustang. In this case, looks may be winning out over performance.

In fullsize cars, Kelley Blue Book puts the Nissan Maxima over the Ford Taurus.

Among the hybrids, the Honda Civic beat the competition.

In subcompacts, the 2012 Honda Fit came out on top.
