1 killed, 1 injured in Montgomery Co. crash

UPDATED, 6/10/2017, 11:30 p.m., WASHINGTON — One person is dead and another critically injured after a crash in Montgomery County, Maryland, Friday.

Montgomery County police received a call just after 6 p.m. of a crash at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Franklin Street in Kensington.

A Toyota Camry traveling north on Connecticut Avenue and a Ford C-Max traveling south collided, as the Ford made a left turn onto Franklin Street.

The driver of the Toyota, 21-year-old Silver Spring resident Jose Luis Fajardo Romero, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford, Sharon Schatzberg Hormby, 62, of Rockville, was transported to a hospital where she died.

Police continue to investigate the crash and ask anyone with information to call 240-773-6620.
