Ceremony set at spot for new veterans clinic in Gaithersburg

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County officials will be gathering for a ceremony to redevelop space for a new veterans’ clinic.

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will be joined by county, state and federal officials at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Gaithersburg.

It will be the first Department of Veterans Affairs community clinic in the county. It will offer health care services to the more than 44,000 veterans living in the area.

The newly renovated building will offer 11,600 square feet with room for primary-care and mental-health clinics.

The clinic is scheduled to open in December 2017. It will be near the Shady Grove Metro Station.
