Report: Man rescues family after Thanksgiving crash in Poolesville

WASHINGTON — A family is giving thanks after a stranger helped rescue them following a bad accident on a rural roadway in Montgomery County, Maryland on Thanksgiving night.

A man driving along Md. Rt. 107 in Poolesville when the terrible crash occurred on along the stretch known as Deadman’s Curve.

“I looked in my rear-view mirror, and I saw the vehicle in mid-air strike the pole and land on its side,” Nick Tucci tells NBC Washington.

A pregnant woman and her two kids were trapped inside the SUV. The dad had managed to get out. Tucci tells the TV station that he could hear the kids crying.

Entering through the sunroof, Tucci says he was able to climb into the SUV to reach the mom and kids, working with the dad to get them out safely, NBC Washington reports.

The family is said to be doing fine.
