WASHINGTON — Police are looking for a man they say committed three burglaries at two stores early Friday and Saturday mornings.

Montgomery County police believe a suspect smashed the glass door of the Sunoco gas station in the rear of the Cabin John Shopping Center on Seven Locks Road at around 12:25 Friday morning.  Inside, the man tried breaking into the ATM, but failed.  He ended up leaving the store empty-handed.

The next morning, at around 3:20 a.m., the same suspect broke the same glass door — which had been replaced — at the Sunoco gas station.  This time, police believe he dropped the cash register on the floor to force it open, took the money and then left.

About ten minutes later, there was yet another call for a burglary, however this one was at the Potomac Express Food and Deli on Travilah Road.  Like the gas station break-ins, the suspect broke the glass door to get inside.  He tried getting into that store’s ATM, but again failed.  Instead, he took cash from an open register.

Police believe all three burglaries were committed by the same suspect.  If you have information that can help detectives make an arrest, you are encouraged to contact Montgomery County Police at 240-773-6084 or Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 866-411-TIPS (8477).
