Man stabbed on MetroBus in Silver Spring

WASHINGTON — A man was stabbed on a MetroBus in Silver Spring Sunday afternoon.

Metro spokesman Dan Stessel told WTOP that a 20-year-old man and a juvenile female were riding the No. 70 bus northbound from D.C. to the Silver Spring station.

They started fighting while the bus was in the area of the Giant supermarket on the corner of Blair Mill Road and East-West Highway.

Police say the man first hit the girl, then the girl stabbed him with a knife on his left side.

The man was taken to a hospital with what Stessel believes is a non-life-threatening injury.

The man and the juvenile knew each other and were riding the bus together.

Police are still investigating and are still determining charges.
