MGM gets a first: A Sarah Jessica Parker boutique

WASHINGTON — Actress and model Sarah Jessica Parker is also a fashion designer, and she’s opening her first stand-alone boutique store at MGM National Harbor.

SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker will open as part of the resort’s grand opening next month.

Parker has wanted to open a stand-alone retail brand for some time, and MGM Resorts seemed like a good partner.

“It’s been very exciting to have been involved in all steps of the process, from on-site construction visits to the actual layout and design of our boutique,” Parker said in a statement. “I’m honored to be included in this massive undertaking, and I’m very much looking forward to celebrating in December.”

Parker’s designs include handbags, shoes, accessories and her own designer take on “little black dresses.”

A statement says accessories and handbags range from $30 to $695; shoes start and $240; and the SJP LBD (for “Little Black Dress”) collection starts at $395.

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., beginning Dec. 9.
