WASHINGTON — Police said woman was arrested Sunday for trying to smuggle contraband to her son, an inmate at Eastern Correctional Institution in Somerset County, Maryland.
Kathleen E. Lowe, 59, of Mardela Springs, Maryland was visit her son at around noon when corrections workers found her with 114 sheets Suboxone — which is similar to Methadone — and 35 Maverick cigarettes with the filters removed, Maryland State police allege.
Lowe was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance; possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute; delivery of contraband to a correctional facility; and attempt to deliver contraband to a correctional facility, according to Montgomery County District Court records accessed online.
