Line for free joints stretches for blocks in DC

WASHINGTON — Marijuana advocates seeking federal legalization gave away several thousand joints Friday morning.

The line stretched almost a half-mile from Dupont Circle down Massachusetts Ave NW. Organizers with the D.C. Cannabis Coalition checked IDs, and made sure sidewalks, driveways and intersections were clear.

Organizer Adam Eidinger estimates almost 8,000 joints were given away.
