Police investigating Lorton double homicide, possibly drug-related

LORTON, Va. (AP) — Police in Fairfax County, Virginia, are investigating a double homicide after two men were found dead in a car in Lorton.

The men have been identified as Gregory Dennis, 19, and Ryan Cross, 20, both of Dumfries, Virginia. The men were found with apparent trauma to the upper body, police said in a statement. Detectives are working to determine if the deaths are related to drugs.

The bodies were found in a white Acura at the intersection of Dolsie Grove Drive and Pohick Road around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, after someone called police about a suspicious vehicle.

The Washington Post reports that D.C. area has recorded more than 150 homicides so far this year. Twenty of those deaths have been in Virginia. Nine have been in Fairfax County.
