UPDATE: Wednesday, Aug. 19, 5:45 p.m.: WASHINGTON — The family of a missing Fairfax County woman says she has been located Wednesday afternoon.

The family says  Chrissy Hazelbaker has been found, but have not released any additional details.

EARLIER: Wednesday, Aug. 19 2:34 p.m.: WASHINGTON — She had perishable food left on the kitchen counter, her apartment windows were left open and she hasn’t touched her bank account, her sister says. Now family of a missing Fairfax County woman is making a plea for help.

“We are doing everything we know how to do as a family,” says Lisa Owings.

Her younger sister, Christine “Chrissy” Hazelbaker, 33, hasn’t been seen or heard from since Aug. 8 and Owings says the family has started a social media campaign now that the search for Hazelbaker is well into its second week.

Hazelbaker was last seen where her car was later found — outside a Fairfax, Virginia, church where she attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings regularly.

“And her phone and what looks like her purse were found in the woods about a mile and a half from where she was last seen,” Owings says.

Fairfax County police say they are looking for the 5-foot, 7-inch tall blonde with blue eyes, but do not consider her endangered, therefore they did not alert the media. The family chose to begin a social media campaign to try and raise awareness to Hazelbaker’s disappearance.

“We love her so much but, um, I would be lying if I didn’t say we’re up all night fearing the worst,” Owings says.

Her family has been in touch with dozens of people, both in AA and outside the group who haven’t heard from Hazelbaker since Aug. 8.

“It’s just not like her not to talk to someone,” Owings says.

She adds Hazelbaker’s passport was found inside her car, and nothing at her home appears to indicate she packed or planned for a trip. Her sister hasn’t tried to access her bank account or her email since the day she went missing, Owings says.

The family is asking anyone who has seen or heard from Hazelbaker to call 571-399-5633 or email helpfindchrissy@gmail.com.
