Measles test comes back negative in Fairfax County

WASHINGTON — The test came back negative for the suspected measles case.

WASHINGTON — A Fairfax County resident is in isolation while authorities await results of a measles test.

According to the Fairfax County Health Department, the individual is suspected of having measles and health officials are currently identifying potential exposure sites.

No other information is available until test results come in. If the results are positive, officials will hold a news conference on Wednesday.

The health department reminds citizens that measles is “easily preventable through safe and effective MMR vaccine.”
