Farm Aid brings Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews to Jiffy Lube Live

WASHINGTON — It’s time to grow better food, one band at a time.

Farm Aid brings its annual all-day concert to Jiffy Lube Live on September 17 in Bristow, Virginia.

The star-studded lineup includes Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews (feat. Tim Reynolds), Alabama Shakes, Sturgill Simpson, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Jamey Johnson, Margo Price, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Carlene Carter and Insects vs Robots.

Pre-sale begins at noon Wednesday and will end at 11:59 p.m. Sunday — or when tickets sell out.

Ticket rices range from $49.50 to $189.50.

Each person can buy up to four tickets.

The concert was founded in 1985 by Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young, who were inspired by the Live Aid benefit concert put on by Bob Dylan and others earlier that same year.

Dave Matthews joined the trio in 2001 to create a four-man board that hosts the annual event of food, music and hands-on activities. Since 1985, Farm Aid has raised more than $50 million to help family farmers across the country while inspiring millions to take part in the Good Food Movement.

“Music and food have an incredible power to bring people together,” Farm Aid Executive Director Carolyn Mugar said. “Farm Aid is a day that illustrates the diversity and strength of the Good Food Movement. At Farm Aid 2016, we’ll join forces and raise our voices for a farm and food system that is good for people and communities, not just for the profits of a few.”
