A search engine fit for ‘Simpsons’ fans

WASHINGTON — Whether you’re looking for scenes where Homer says “D’oh,” or where Ned Flanders says “okely dokely,” a new search engine promises to show you screen grabs from all your favorite “Simpsons” moments.

“We had the idea several years ago when we were quoting ‘The Simpsons’ at each other all day long, and it was surprisingly difficult to find an image of the scenes we were quoting on Google,” co-creator Sean Schulte told Wired.

Using special coding, the creators created a database of 3 million stills and quotes from the first 15 seasons of the popular TV show.

You can share the fun with others by finding your favorite Simpsons quote and turning it into a meme to share with your friends.

Hours can be spent searching quotes and browsing the resulting image gallery. So far, you can only search dialogue, which means a search for “Santa’s Little Helper” will only return the times characters say “Santa’s Little Helper.”

The creators say they plan to add more functionality to the search engine down the road.
