Man barricades himself in NE DC

WASHINGTON — A man barricaded himself in his apartment after he allegedly stabbed another person.

The suspect went inside his apartment on 100 block of 36th Street Northeast Saturday at around 3 p.m. and refused to come out for more than five hours. The barricade ended around 9 p.m.

Residents in the surrounding area were asked to shelter in place during the barricade, NBC Washington reported.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, WJLA reported.
