1 dead, 1 injured in stabbing at D.C. restaurant

WASHINGTON — A man was killed Sunday night after being stabbed inside Barcode, a popular lounge and restaurant in downtown Washington.

Another man was stabbed, but is in stable condition.

Police have identified the victim as Robinson Pal, 29, of Riverdale, Maryland. The establishment was crowded when the violence erupted.

Police say investigators are interviewing several people in an attempt to identify the perpetrator.

Police Chief Cathy Lanier has ordered Barcode closed for 96 hours, under the city’s 2005 law, which gives the police chief expanded authority to close restaurants and bars where major crimes occur.
