D.C. police announce second arrest in AU graduate’s death

WASHINGTON — D.C. police have announced a second arrest in connection with the stray-gunfire death of an American University graduate in August.

According to police, 19-year-old Andre Dudley of Northeast Washington was arrested Thursday and charged with second degree murder while armed in Matthew Shlonsky’s death.

Shlonsky, 23, was hit by a stray bullet on Aug. 15 in D.C.’s Shaw neighborhood on his way to a party.

On Aug. 21, 19-year-old Marcus King turned himself in to police in connection to the shooting. He was charged with second degree murder while armed.
