D.C. police make arrest in October fatal barbershop shooting

WASHINGTON — Police have arrested a man wanted for an October homicide at a D.C. barbershop.

On Thursday, the Metropolitan Police Department arrested 27-year-olf Antwon Deangelo Green of Southeast D.C. for his role in the death of 38-year-old Breond Keys.

Police say they responded to the report of a shooting in the 1400 block of Good Hope Road in Southeast on Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at about 11:20 a.m. When police arrived, they found Keys inside a barbershop suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say Keys was shot several times by a masked man who entered the shop

Emergency crews transported Keys to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police did not say what led them to suspect Green. Investigators did not say whether Keys had been a customer or employee, and offered no motive for the attack.

Green is charged with murder while armed in connection with the homicide.
