Police seek suspect in fatal Southeast D.C. shooting

WASHINGTON — A man is dead after a shooting in Southeast D.C. Monday night and police are seeking information about any suspects.

Metropolitan Police were on patrol Monday evening when they heard gunshots at about 8:20 p.m. After canvassing the area, the police located two adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the 3100 block of Buena Vista Terrace in Southeast D.C.

Emergency crews transported the two men to an area hospital. One victim — later identified as 26-year-old Andre Antwon McConnell of Capitol Heights, Maryland — died as a result of his injuries.

The other victim, whose name has not yet been released, is in stable condition.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted in this or any other homicides in D.C.
