D.C. firefighter faces weapons charges

WASHINGTON – A D.C. firefighter was arrested Wednesday on weapons charges, the third District firefighter arrested in less than a month.

NBC Washington reports that Andre Watson, a rookie firefighter, was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police served a search warrant at his Southeast apartment.

Police say they found an unregistered Glock handgun, optic laser sights and unregistered ammunition.

Watson has been placed on administrative leave.

Earlier this month, two D.C. firefighters were arrested on assault and other charges.
