Lawyer: D.C. rabbi accused of videotaping nude women to plead guilty

WASHINGTON — The D.C. rabbi accused of videotaping nude women, intends to plead guilty to voyeurism, his lawyer tells WTOP.

Barry Freundel is appearing in D.C. Superior Court Thursday, and his lawyer said he will plead guilty to 52 counts of misdemeanor voyeurism.

Police arrested Freundel in October for videotaping six women at a Jewish ritual bath. However, an investigation found that Freundel had taped more than 150 women going back to 2009.

Each of the 52 counts carries between no jail time to a year in jail.

Freundel was a rabbi at the Kesher Israel synagogue in D.C. for more than 25 years.
