Police release names of Baltimore bus crash victims

WASHINGTON — Baltimore police released the names of the victims who died as a result of Tuesday’s crash involving a school bus and a Maryland Transit Administration bus.

The driver of the school bus was Glenn R. Chappell, 67, of Baltimore.

The driver of the MTA bus was Ebonee Danekk, 33, of Baltimore.

Police identified the passengers of the MTA bus who died:

  • Cherry Denise Yarborough, 51, of Baltimore
  • Terance Lee Casey, 52, of Baltimore
  • Gerald Holloway, 51, of Baltimore

A 46-year-old woman whose next of kin has yet to be identified also died.

Three people are still at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma. They are in critical, serious and fair conditions, police say. Seven others have been released from Baltimore-area hospitals.

The school bus struck a fence and then a car before it continued down the road, hitting an oncoming Maryland Transit Administration bus around 7 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

The medical examiner will determine whether the school bus driver suffered a medical emergency.

Recording equipment from one of the buses also may have crash data.

Interviews with witnesses will help piece together what happened.
